To accommodate our growth into supporting Tea Party activities in Richardson, Frisco, Allen and elsewhere, we decided to go with the more generic name of North Texas Tea Party; the new website is:

The July 4th Dallas Tea Party was great; Now What?

Despite a few technical glitches, the Dallas Tea Party July 4th got together over 15,000 patriots in common bond that the direction government is wrong, not fiscally sustainable, and a degradation of our rights and liberties under the Constitution. Now what?

It is time to take action and that action needs to be aimed at the 2010 elections, primarily legislative. Incumbents and potential challengers need to be judged- on their deeds whenever possible- as to their support and advocacy for a return to fiscal sanity in government. It is time to start accessing each race at each level and to determine where to apply the resources of Tea Party to affect positive change.

In our area of North Texas, that will likely take two forms. The first is to identify those GOP incumbents who talk a good game, but don’t vote that way. It will also be to identify statewide or nearby races where non-conservative Democrats are vulnerable and can be replaced by strong fiscal conservatives in the general election.

The first step is to gain familiarity with incumbent records and electoral results (to determine vulnerability). For that purpose, pages containing that data will be developed on this site. And local meetings will be held to discuss this and plans of action; keep checking back.

Cap and Trade was passed when NO ONE Had Read it!

Has there ever been such a case of legislative mafesence within the American government before? NO ONE in the House had read the Cap & Trade Bill before it was passed! Good, bad or indifferent, it doesn’t matter; it can now be ‘finalized’ to include ANYTHING!

July 4th, be sure to bring plenty of signs protesting this latest defiling of the Constitution to South Fork..

Father’s Day

I hope all the guys out there had a good Father’s day. Me, I spent about 2 ½ hours of it- in the heat of the late morning- doing a literature drop to promote the Dallas Tea Party’s July 4^th event at South Fork Ranch. Why would I do that on a day that- as a Dad- I had every right to be lazy? Because I spent a good part of the previous two days following the violence in Iran. I did it because of Neda, the beautiful young woman whose horrible death on the streets of Tehran has exploded across the internet.

You see, in this country, it doesn’t take a great deal of bravery to oppose government policy. And the current government policy- as we all know- will lead to national bankruptcy. We have the ability to affect change in this nation that is the envy of much of the world, without getting murdered on the streets or having goons kick in our doors and make us disappear.

And July 4^th is the day we celebrate that right, among others; those rights bought in blood over the centuries. That right to oppose- and its importance- has been clarified to me over the past few days. And I will not waste it. Will you?

If not, meet us at South Fork July 4^th. And do everything you can to bring every like-minded neighbor or family member. To show our mass opposition to current policies that will cripple this nation, to honor the people who gave us this right, and to honor Neda and others lost in the fight for similar rights elsewhere.

UPDATE: A reminder: Parking will be $10 per car but the event itself is free. Bring coolers, but no alcohol; all coolers will be checked. Bring chairs, blankets, shade tents, etc.

Michelle Malkin is the key speaker and will be on around 8 pm, but Capt. Scott O’Grady, (hero of the Bosnian conflict; shot down, evading capture for 6 days) will be on in the 7:20pm timeframe. Bottom line: be sure to be there and settled in by 7pm. The fireworks display will be fantastic, especially with the minimal light pollution out at South Fork.

Details will be here as they come out, but it will be an evening event with fireworks and live bands.

We who live in Plano, Texas and demand a return of fiscal sanity to government, now have a philosophical home. This is not a party-oriented movement; member from all parties are welcome, big-spending politician of all stripes contested equally.

What we have in common is the horror of graphs like below, which assures that we are passing economic collapse and crushing debt on to the following generations. While many of us have other issues in common (2nd Amendment support, immigration enforcement, terrorist protection, family issues), none of them are the focus of this site, because national bankruptcy would trump them all.
